Builder Brian Bailey's custom home in the German farmland area of Fredricksburg, Texas is a blend of history and high-tech. Great care was taken to emulate the architecture and native materials used in the surrounding locale from the last century.
In addition, the home utilizes the latest building and technological systems available including the installation of a propane gas system for its indoor and outdoor cooking, four fireplaces, exterior gas lamps, heating units and the water heaters.
"I haven't built an all electric house in five years," declared Bailey whose custom home volume totals over $10 million a year in the west Austin area. He sees natural gas and propane gas systems as energy-efficient fuel alternatives for the future.
Called Bee Hill Farm, the Bailey estate includes their three-bedroom home with "world-class" kitchen, barn and two bed and breakfast apartments.
The main house features three bedrooms, four baths and two half-baths. The hand-carved limestone mantels and columns are focal points in the family room and master bedroom.
