Our Background

Brian A. Bailey began his career in the homebuilding industry in 1979 after growing up in the business. After graduating from the University of Texas – Austin (BBA ’76) and completing his MBA at the University of Houston (MBA ’78), Brian spent several years in the banking business in Houston. Brian graduated from the management training program at First City National Bank in 1977 and entered into the commercial lending division and ultimately earned the title of Vice President – Commercial lending at Houston Bancshares. In 1979, Brian had the opportunity to return to Austin and start Bailey Builders, Inc. with his father, a long time builder in Austin. Brian A. Bailey Homes, Inc. was formed after his father’s death.

Brian has served on the local, state and national boards affilated with the National Association of Home Builders and the Homeowners Warranty Corporation of America. In the past he has served on the board of Interfirst Band and two major title companies. Brian Bailey has been a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker since 1977 and is longtime member of the Austin Board of Realtors. Brian has served on the board at his church, Seton Hospital and is on the executive board of the Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

With over thirty years experience in Custom home building, Brian has become known nationally, lecturing at the Custom Builder Symposium for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and routinely presents training seminars to many local real estate brokerage companies. Brian is also a member of “the Monuments”, a builder group put together by NAHB, which is made up of sixteen upper end custom builders across the nation. Through this affiliation, Brian routinely travels to the major markets across the country to keep current on new products, designs and methods.

Through his experience and continuing education, it is no wonder that Brian Bailey has earned the reputation among Austin’s Realtors, bankers and homebuyers as Austin’s Best Custom Builder, a title he earned before becoming “America’s Best Builder” for 1999.
